- They will start by asking questions to assess the problem
- They will then perform a range of tests to correctly diagnose what is happening
- You are then offered a choice of potential options to treat your problem including transparent costs and risks.
- They then will endeavour to solve your problem is possible during the same visit.
There may be times when there are no slots available due to multiple emergencies needing to be treated by our emergency dentists. In this case we will still be available to assess your pain and we can offer temporary solutions for pain relief. Our friendly team will schedule in the next available appointment to resolve your problems in a permanent manner.
The Australian Dental Association recommends a bi-annual general dental checkup to allow you to have peace of mind and completely avoid having emergency problems arise. Prevention is always better than cure.

Lost a tooth? Accidental knock out of your tooth?
Here are our recommendations for first aid of a lost tooth. If it is a baby tooth we generally recommend to leave it out. If it is a permanent tooth then here are our suggestions.
- Assess whether the tooth is dirty, if it is, please grab the tooth by the tooth and NOT the root and then rinse it under cold running water for about 10 seconds
- If you are able to, the best solution is to try to replant the tooth into the socket and bite on some gauze or some tissues to try and keep it in the proper position.
If you are unsure whether its a baby tooth or a permanent tooth or you’re not sure on what to do. Follow the following instructions:
- We recommend placing the tooth in a small glass of milk, alternatively your own saliva can be a storage medium for the tooth. Lastly, please check your nearest first aid kit as they sometimes have storage solutions.
- We recommend that you don’t store it in water.
- Call and find emergency dental treatment as soon as possible.
Dental swelling? Potential infection or an abscess?
A dental infection like any other infection needs an IMMEDIATE Emergency Dental visit. Do NOT delay.
Please visit a Dentist as soon as possible to allow them to assess the cause of the swelling.
- Pain relief medications may aid temporarily in reducing the pain, but do not use this as an excuse to delay seeing a dentist.
- Whilst it is a dental problem if you can’t fit in to see a dentist please visit our Doctors (General Practioners- GPs) who may write you a script for antibiotics. Please book with our dentist as urgently as possible.
Infections can spread quickly, which can result in severe symptoms such as breathing difficulties or problems swallowing. If this is the case seek immediate hospital care.
Our Dental team would love the opportunity to help you and your family achieve optimal oral health and the smile that you want.
